I am driven by my entrepreneurial spirit and thrive in environments that invest and grow their businesses.
Much of my entrepreneurial experience comes from running an education services company. My role consisted of marketing services, signing service contracts, staffing employees, providing customer service, and complying with education requirements. We delivered a great product to schools in need of physical education and after school programs. The impact of this business was tremendous, parents and their children's lives were enriched. After 5 years of running this business I came to realize that I needed to develop further and find other opportunities that would allow me to do so.
Natali,
ReplyDeleteI think it’s so cool that you actually have experience in entrepreneurship. Was the program something like YMCA? I don’t have much entrepreneurship experience besides having family members that own businesses. Also, I clean a couple of houses which is something that I do on my own.
It’s great that you were helping out children and families in need. Physical activity is important so to be able to provide that to children is a gift.
The only advice I have to make your post better would be to relate the picture to the topic. Other than that, I enjoyed your post!

Thank you Brandi, in aspects of recreational activities the concept was similar to the YMCA. It was a mobile program offering convenience to parents at schools who did not have an activities program in place. The business model was designed as a service provider adding value to schools through enrichment programs such as ballet, tap, jazz, motor skill development for preschoolers, physical education and sports programs. We partnered with private schools, preschools as well as elementary schools as a third party contractor so not building overhead.
DeleteHi Natali, it is great to hear that you have so much experience with entrepreneurship and helping others. I'm hoping that one day I can expand my organization, Global Business Brigades at UF, as much as you have expanded yours. Your post was relatively short, and I would be very interested in hearing more about the details of your business. Some of the things that I am curious about include where the business was located, how many people you worked with, and how many schools were you involved with. The business sounds very interesting and seems to have made a positive impact.

DeleteHi Michael, thank you for your response and feedback! I owned and operated the business in Tampa, Fl. Starting the company, I worked alone for 2 years as a Sole Proprietor. During the start up I worked part time as a fitness instructor at a gym called Lifestyles Family Fitness Center and worked as a seasonal retail sales associate at a store in the mall for extra income and cushion. The 3rd year, I began operating as an LLC and hired employees. The first hiring, I brought on 2 instructors and 1 assistant who also instructed classes. By the end, I had a team of 8 employees. The concept was designed to partner with private schools, preschools and elementary schools as third party contractor so no building overhead costs other than liability insurance and a percents on enrollments to schools for use of space. During slow seasons I added in a few revenue streams by offering summer camps and birthday parties at an athlete training facility that I also partnered with. My largest account closed for expansion which is when I decided to expand on my business interests. It was very labor intensive, yet one of my greatest life experiences so far!
